Don’t have time to follow all the news you need to? That is what we are here for. Here are some interesting news items from Phoenix from the past week.
New Apartments In Central Phoenix
A new 227 unit apartment complex and creative office spaces are being built on the north end of downtown Phoenix. The complex will be along the light rail (raillife.com) on Central, just south of McDowell Rd.
Why Phoenix?
A new survey of business leaders shows their thoughts on Phoenix. Questions asked included how will the Trump administration have an impact on their business, do you plan to expand in 2017 and how does climate and weather impact the decision to do business here?
Minimum wage survives court challenge
Did you support Prop206 to raise the minimum wage? Did you vote against it? Either way, after a court challenge this week it appears the minimum wage increase is here to stay
Home builders confidence high
Home builders are saying their confidence is higher than it has been since 2005. The main reason? Home builders say they anticipate a cut in regulations which will make building easier. Of course, builders are still cautious because of potential interest rate increases.
Everything infill
Do you know what an infill project is? Drive around downtown Phoenix, and you will see an empty lot. A year later that lot has a trendy new nightclub or a mixed use building with business office spaces on the lower end with condos above. That is an infill, and it happens a lot in the valley. Everything infill is an event which discusses the issues of infill projects and next month a top Zillow economist will be at an event here in Phoenix to discuss infill.
Oh, the depth!
Excuse us while we brag. We are kind of big fans of the ASU football program. The QB depth they have in spring ball is unlike anything ASU has ever seen. They have 5 QB’s on campus right now that were 4-star recruits.
Yum… Where we going for dinner
Open Table has come it with a list of the best 100 restaurants in the country based on ratings. Of those 100, seven are right here in the valley? Who is hungry…
Hikers beware
It is that time of year when we get out and hike more in Phoenix. Just this past week there were two rescues needed on Camelback and one on South Mountain. Here is a good piece to remind you about how to prepare, so you are not the next one with a helicopter ride off the mountain.
